Anand zenz' primary focus has always been, and remains, conceptual work. This can be seen at anandzenz.com.

Anand zenz also designs and makes buildings, spaces, objects, structures and landscapes. This is usually from evolving the first concepts through to the full specification and subsequent enactment to completion.

Zenz' scientific background drives an environmentally informed, neo-modernist design approach. This presumes to question and think laterally about the design remit and draws widely from a large, maintained awareness of new materials, products, techniques and scientific developments.

Zenz' role in the actual physical building process of a project has varied from contract administrator all the way across to the main building contractor on a number of projects. However, the predominant making work by zenz is the specialist production and installation of various zenz-designed, one-off elements, ranging from details and furniture to staircases and other building sub-structures.

Whilst creatively complementary, zenz' main role as architectural designer and zenz' parallel role as maker are contractually independent. Thus each role is commissioned separately in any project: engagement for the role as designer does not necessarily require ensuing engagement as maker  - although all clients so far have wanted both. Conversely however, zenz only produces physically that which has also been designed by zenz.
